Description | Water was found seeping under the basketball courts during wet weather periods, causing an area of 1800m2 to be damaged. The courts had to remain open everyday, therefore, a containment area was set up to dry the courts and to make the area safe for players. A generator was placed on-site to ensure the water extraction equipment was in operation 24hrs a day. The total drying time was 28 days and, within 7 days, the cupping had reduced once the ingress issue was rectified and no further water intrusion was found. An inspection of floor was done 4 months later. The results showed that the floor was solid to walk on, there was no cupping and so the courts did not need a sand back. During the drying time and final inspection, the business continued without any interruption. |
